Claude Desktop setup
The official Anthropic app works through Claudexia without an Anthropic subscription, using the same key as every other tool.
Setup
- Install the app, then open the menu (☰) → Help → Troubleshooting → Enable Developer Mode. You do not need to sign in.
- In the new Developer menu choose
Configure Third-Party Inference… - In the connection section choose
Gatewayand fill in the fields:

Gateway auth scheme x-api-keyLeave the Gateway SSO IdP (OIDC) section empty.
- In Models turn on Model discovery: the list loads from
https://api.claudexia.tech/v1/models. The Test model discovery button checks the connection right away. Pick Claude models. - Click
Apply Changes: the app restarts. If the sign-in screen shows up again, chooseOr sign in with Gateway.
Important: In the Gateway base URL field the address has no /v1.
When something goes wrong
The model list is empty
Click Test model discovery. If the check fails, verify the address (no /v1) and the key from the API Keys section.
Error 401
The key must start with sk_cdx_ and be active. Other codes are listed in the error reference.
